Halloween Games: Entertain Your All-Star Guests!
Halloween Party Games for All the Family
Most people like wearing costumes of their favorite movie and cartoon characters or garments of yore during the Holidays but
imagine going to a party, expecting Halloween Party Games yet just staring at each other for hours while munching on pumpkin pies.
Complimenting some guy’s Star Trek Outfit or Jake Sully’s startlingly blue complexion will soon be tiring if there are no activities to be enjoyed. Whether this is a children’s Halloween party or more of an adult’s festivity, planning is
most essential.
A full week before your get-together (for some- even more than that), get a pen and paper ready for everything that you may need so that everyone will have the time of their lives! Note also that the games should be age-appropriate. You don’t want toddlers bawling in your party because the game you started is too menacing.
Halloween Party Games for Children
Although you can count on the traditional games that even our grandparents have played in the early 1900s such as ‘Snapping at Apples’ or ‘Pin the Wart on the Witch’, it will never hurt to be add a bit more imagination this year.
One element that is of great importance when planning games is the prize, so be sure that there are fun rewards provided for the winners. It doesn’t have to be something astounding or expensive – just interesting and fun.
Remember that kids will play however complicated or boring a game just in hope of grabbing a prize at the end of it all.
Another way of making your party games interesting is to put a Halloween twist in the usual party games like ‘Newspaper Dance’ or ‘Musical Chairs’. For instance, instead of just chairs, have the older children (or the parents, even) in scary costumes sit on the chairs and the kids go around them. When the music stops, the kids have to jump on the laps of the closest ‘monster’!
Experiment with a Halloween version of ‘Whack a Piñata’ but instead of a piñata, have a witch or a ghoul filled with sweet treats.
For pre-school children, craft projects will be a definite sensation – not to mention providing a little peace and quiet while the adults have their fun. Pictures and ideas can be found for free on the internet.
Halloween Party Games for Adults
Dressing up as someone and winning the best costume of the night award seems fun but it would be a gross injustice if children are the only ones who get to have fun games on Halloween. Adults need playtime too!
There are dozens of fun games that the young-at-heart can enjoy, not to mention actual children’s games.
Hide and Seek was fun when you were twenty years younger but how much more fun it is now to play while you’re dressed as Marilyn Monroe running around a house that was made to appear haunted.
If you don’t want to die of apoplexy or a heart attack playing more energetic games, try inviting a gypsy-looking fortune teller who can read tarot cards at your place and have everyone’s palms, fates and futures read! You can dress up as a gypsy Fortune Teller yourself and have fun inventing all sorts of great ‘futures’ for your friends!
Remember that it really does not matter what activity you decide to have this coming Halloween as long as everyone has fun at the end of the day. Like other holidays, this comes only once a year so you might as well make it the greatest and grandest and let your guests rave about the best Halloween party they have attended ever.
Halloween Games can be fun, whatever your age and these can be much more exciting when you’ve found just the right Halloween Costumes to wear!
